Bowl of Hummus


The Cupboard staff has snacked for years on this simple, yet delicious hummus. The recipe comes courtesy of Polly, our dinnerware buyer and one of the store’s managers. Follow these few simple steps, and you will be the hit of the party!


4 cans of garbanzo beans
1 lemon
1 clove of garlic, minced
Olive oil (approx. ½ cup)


Drain and rinse 3 cans of beans and put them in the food processor along with the garlic.

Add the zest and juice of the lemon. Process roughly.

Add olive oil, fourth can of beans, and enough of the reserved liquid until the hummus is pureed smooth to your optimum consistency.

Salt to taste.

Serve with fresh veggies and pita bread or chips. Serves 6-10.

Fresh herbs

Green or kalamata olives
